What do I need to Know?

What is a Subluxation?

Comparison of a normal spine and a vertebral subluxation showing misaligned vertebra, swollen disc, joint inflammation, interference of nerve, and tightened muscles.

In simple terms, a subluxation is a joint (Vertebrae or other) that has moved out of its proper position and is not functioning appropriately. This causes a miscommunication between the brain and body, altering the nervous system’s information to its surrounding structures.

Definition: A Subluxation is currently defined as a self perpetuating, segmental motor control problem, that involves a joint, such as a Vertebrae, that is not moving appropriately, causing maladaptive neural plastic changes, that interfere with the central nervous systems ability to Self-regulate, self-organise, adapt, repair and heal. (The Rubicon Group, 2017).

Should I see a Chiropractor?

Chiropractors are primary health care doctors, specialised and trained to assess how your spine & body function overall and what is the root cause of your symptoms. Every part of your body is controlled by messages from your brain via your spinal cord. We assess biomechanics (how your body holds itself and cooperates with movement), neuromuscular functioning, and spinal alignment.

If you want to function at your best, go and see your local Chiropractor!

This is Our Approach!

At Noor Chiropractic, our goal is to get you functioning at your best. Whatever that is for you specifically.

We want you to express your light as best as you can. We focus on Vitalistic care, helping your nervous system unwind areas of stored tension and interference, so that your brain and body can communicate at the Most Optimal, allowing you levels of health many people do not think is possible.

Your brain is the control centre of the body, and the nerves that flow through your body are the messengers that carry the signals. When your spine has Subluxated or Misaligned, these nerve pathways cannot do their jobs as efficiently, resulting in symptoms such as pain, weakness, numbness/tingling, radiculopathy, balance and gait issues, etc.

Our Goal is to help your body be as efficient as possible, far beyond symptomatic relief. Your body is capable of being healthy; we just have to get rid of the interference.

Questions

  • Chiropractic care is focused on correcting spinal alignment and removing nervous system interference to improve the communication between the brain and the body, restoring function, healing, repair, and motion.

Most people don't realise chiropractors treat far beyond back pain. Conditions we commonly help with include:

    • Neck pain and stiffness — including tech neck and desk-related tension

    • Headaches and migraines — often linked to cervical spine dysfunction

    • Sciatica — nerve pain radiating into the legs.

    • Joint pain — shoulders, hips, knees, ankles, elbows and wrists.

    • Sleep difficulties — often improved as the nervous system regulates

    • General wellbeing — many of our patients continue care simply because they feel and function better with regular adjustments.

At Noor Chiropractic, we take a whole-person approach. We're not just focused on where it hurts - we're focused on how your entire body is functioning, adapting, and thriving

  • The “pop” and “crack” sounds you hear are the natural gases (nitrogen, carbon dioxide, oxygen) within your joints being released with an adjustment. These sounds do not signify a successful adjustment, what really matters is making sure that the joint affected is back into its proper position and allowing the nerves surrounding it to work without excessive pressure.

Chiropractic care can be uncomfortable however, it should not be overly painful. We work with areas of the body that have not been moving appropriately. It can be uncomfortable at the start when an area is finally being stimulated but this will rapidly decrease with successive adjustments.
